Digital Radiography
Digital Radiography in Cary, NC
Digital radiographs enable surgeons to view images on a computer to begin diagnosis within a few minutes of image capture. The fully digitized picture archiving and communication system (PACS) allows images to be archived on digital storage media and viewed by any doctor in the network as necessary.
Digital x-rays are much safer for patients than the traditional films of the past. In fact, patients receive 80% less radiation with digital radiology than with film-based machines.
Once in a digital form, a radiographic image may be manipulated in several ways in order to turn the visualization into an act of improved diagnostic value. Depending on each clinical context, doctors utilize various digital image processing techniques to help to unveil visual information that can lead to a more rapid and accurate diagnosis for the patient.
